In Australia’s election, which took place on Saturday, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese pulled off a stunning landslide victory to clinch a second term. “The economic uncertainties and international convulsions emanating from Washington make the option of Albanese — who is practical and understated, if unlikely to attempt bold moves to address larger challenges facing the country — more palatable,” said Victoria Kim, our Australia correspondent.
Canada: Prime Minister Mark Carney will meet Trump at the White House tomorrow for a high-stakes encounter.
Romania: George Simion, a right-wing nationalist who has promised to “Make Romania Great Again,” bucked the anti-Trump trend, winning the first round of the presidential election.
